Advancing to Regional Meet on April 29-30

Advancing to Area:

Girls Dusty Soles - 3200m, 400m, & 800m Sarah Myers - long jump 4x200 relay team: Shelby Tenney Paola Quezada  Keaton Fielden  Alana Pearce

Boys Josh Archer - 400m and 200m Xavier Edwards - Long Jump &  Triple Jump Trey McIntyre - 110 hurdles 4x100 relay team:  Chad Amico Josh Archer Kaden Douglas Jalen Rector

The Blue Devil Track team was back in action at the district track meet April 13-14.  Varsity and JV performed very well. 

In the JV division several placed and scored points.  Dylan Hicks and Jeff Mullens both placed in the shot put, 2^nd and 6^th respectively.  Ryan Wade and Chance Brown picked up points getting 5^th and 6^th in the triple jump.  Truitt Murphy scored big getting 4^th in the long jump and 1^st in the 200m.  Jace Givens picked up silver in the 100m.  The 4x100 and 4x200 relay teams comprised of Jace Givens, Truitt Murphy, Jacob Sullivan, and Nathaniel Nix scored a 3^rd place finish in both competitions.  All together the JV combined to score 59.5 points and 3^rd place overall as a team.

In the Varsity Girls competition, they performed admirably and ended up finishing in 4^th place overall as a team.  The 4x200 relay team of Shelby Tenney, Paola Quezada, Keaton Fielden, and Alana Pearce finished 4^th place and advanced to area.  Shelby came up just short in the mile and 2 mile, finishing 5^th in both and having to go to the photo finish to determine the 4^th place finish in the mile.  Alana Pearce ran individually and made the finals of the 200m finishing 5^th.  Sarah Myers continued her streak of Area Qualifying by finishing 2^nd in the long jump.  Dusty Soles qualified in all three of her individual events, finishing 1^st in the 2 mile, and taking Bronze in both the 400 meters and 800 meters.

In the Varsity Boys competition Xavier Edwards advanced to Area by placing 3^rd in the triple jump and 4^th in the long jump.  The 4x100 relay team of Chad Amico, Josh Archer, Kaden Douglas, and Jalen Rector ran their best time of the year coming in 2^nd place and advancing to area.  Trey McIntyre advanced to area, narrowly pulling ahead into 4^th place in the 110 hurdles.  Josh Archer also picked up individual gold in the 400 meters with a region best time this year.  40 minutes later he had recovered enough to run a personal best in the 200 meters advancing in both events.  Overall the varsity boys finished in 5^th place getting points from the 4x200 and 4x400 relays and other areas.

Those that advanced will be back in action next Wednesday, April 20^th at the Area meet in Como-Pickton.
