My first 21 years of education were spent in Leonard, Texas.  I then taught three years in Celeste, Texas.  I left Celeste for one year and taught in Lovington, New Mexico.  I then returned to Celeste in 2005.  I have enjoyed teaching in all three districts but I am partial to the Celeste ISD.  I have always felt like I was part of a family instead of a school district. 

I taught first grade for one year in Leonard and the rest of the time was spent in SPED.  In New Mexico I was also a SPED teacher.  In Celeste I have taught SPED and then last year I changed to Title I.  I have loved all of my teaching positions.

I have been married to Ronny Becknell since 1975.  We have three sons and three daughter-in-laws. Our two grandsons, Eli and Cam, have brought much joy to our family.  My grandchildren attend school in Oklahoma.  Since our children are grown, we now have a dog name Alli.

I love spending time with my family.  I also enjoy traveling and shopping.
