CROSS COUNTRY TEAM COMPETES AT NORTH HOPKINS

The Blue Devils had thirty-three student athletes that competed at the North Hopkins Cross Country Meet on Thursday, September 8, 2016.  "I am super proud of them all. It was hot and a lot of competition, but they battled through and did a great job representing Celeste." Cross Country Coach Amy Herron said. 
  

The varsity girls placed 8th out of 15 teams. Dusty Soles medaled in 18th place. Keaton Fielden, Mason McCord, and Cassidy Herron also ran well for their first outing.  The JV girls placed 7th. Mackenzie Minter, Madison Minter and Jaycee Brown led the way for the JV girls.  
 
The junior high girls placed 9th out of 14 teams. There were 160 junior high girls in the competition. Alondra Orduna (image 7) placed 30th, Chelsea Young 62nd, Jaci Jones 73rd (image 1), and Kayln Riley 76th were top four runners for the junior high.  
 

The boys did not have enough for a team but both Michael Huddleston and Josh Archer had good season starts for the varsity boys, as well as, Jared Sherwin, Dylan Tenney, Gabriel Becken, and Kaleb Smith for the junior high boys.
