UNVEILING OF STATE CHAMPIONSHIP BANNERS

Members of the Lady Blue Devils back-to-back state basketball championships were honored in a ceremony to unveil new banners.

Celeste ISD honored the members of the 1991-1992 and 1992-1993 State Champion Girls’ Basketball Teams and their coaches during a halftime ceremony at a basketball game on Friday, December 18, 2015.  Former Celeste basketball coach Susan Morton addressed the crowd as the new championship banners were unveiled. Members of the team were announced and ten former players were recognized during the presentation as well as the assistant coach and teams' bookkeeper.  Following the halftime ceremony, there was a reception for these champions, coaches, and administrators that attended this special occasion. 

With the new banners unveiled, former Celeste basketball head coach Susan Morton spoke of the hard work, dedication and team spirit that helped the former Lady Blue Devils achieve back-to-back championships. Morton also emphasized how much she and the team appreciated the support of the community, school board and parents that shared in this extraordinary accomplishment.
