DRIVEN TO SERVE & SUCCEED

CHS Senior, Anne Rouleau, wins 1st Place in the Creative Writing Awards Contest at Paris Junior College!

Anne also organized a Blood Drive at Celeste High School.

Anne Rouleau is a senior at Celeste High School who has devoted many hours of service and hard work to her school and community.  Anne is a member of the Celeste High School Health Advisory Committee, and she made a decision and a commitment to make a difference in the lives of the student body.  She set a goal to host a blood drive at Celeste High School.  She contacted the American Red Cross to set up a date for May 11, 2015, and then she began promoting the Blood Drive with flyers and reaching out to students and the community by encouraging them to sign up to donate.  Anne had over 50 students, teachers and community members come out to support the Blood Drive.  She assisted during the blood drive by helping with check in and caring for the blood donors to make sure they had something to eat and drink after giving blood.  Anne will receive a $250 scholarship from the Red Cross.  Celeste ISD is proud of Anne for volunteering her time and contributing to such a worthy cause.

Recently, Anne also got some very exciting news!  Celeste High School English teacher, Rhonda Hackler, had her students write a creative piece for her Junior English class.  Anne entered her poem entitled "Innocence" in the Creative Writing Awards Contest at Paris Junior College.  Anne won 1st place, and her poem was published in the 2015 Paris Junior College Swingers of Birches: Student Achievement in Writing book.  Congratulations to Anne for an outstanding senior year at Celeste High School!
