DISTRICT 14-2A SOFTBALL CHAMPS!

After 12 innings, the Lady Blue Devils defeated the Bland Tigers 7-6 on April 25th to win the District 14-2A Softball Championship!

The Lady Blue Devils will have a bye in the 1st round of the playoffs.  They will play the winner of the Riesel and Itasca game that will be played on Thursday, April 30th.

The Lady Blue Devils woke up Saturday morning with a mission--take the district softball title and make it to prom on time. Due to excessive rain and the softball season ending deadline, the only option was to play Saturday morning. Girls generally take a full day to get ready for prom, so pitching a softball game in the mix can be a challenge. Most of the girls were in a panic and had to move their appointments to later times, but this didn’t keep them from losing their focus and determination. The game was evenly matched, and by the seventh inning, the game was tied 4-4. This forced the game to go into extra innings. The Lady Tigers had the home field advantage at Bonham, and matched every run the Lady Devils scored-- up until the twelfth inning. The Lady Devils beat their arch rivals 7-6 to claim the district championship. The Ladies only had enough time to take one picture before having to rush back for a quick shower and transform into elegant beauties.
