CJHS Field Trips Provide a Day of Discovery

Celeste Seventh grade traveled to Bonham to tour the Sam Rayburn Museum and House.

 

Celeste Sixth grade visited the Audie Murphy/American Cotton Museum in Greenville, Texas.  The students were able to explore the history of the cotton fields in the 1800’s and learn about local war heroes from the 20th Century including Audie Murphy who attended Celeste Public Schools as a child.  Students also toured the Hunt County Juvenile Detention Center.  Employees of the center discussed careers opportunities with students such as juvenile corrections officers, counselors and probation officers.  Next, students visited small claims court where the Honorable Judge Wayne Money spoke to the students about the judicial system in Hunt County.


 

 

Celeste Seventh grade traveled to Bonham to tour the Sam Rayburn museum and house. They also visited the Bonham historical museum and Fort Inglish. The seventh graders got to further experience Bonham's hospitality with a trip to the Hickory BBQ restaurant. The day was packed with history, memorabilia and great food.


 

 

Celeste Eighth grade toured the Ross Perot Museum of Nature and Science.  Students were given opportunities to discover hands-on learning in a chemistry lab, watch The Wildest Weather in the Solar System 3-D in the Perot Theatre and workout in the hands-on science lab of the Sports Hall where students explored the body in motion.
