Celeste ISD Meal Charge Policy

The Celeste ISD standard is that no child goes without a lunch or breakfast as requested. This standard is adopted by all schools in Celeste ISD.

The following will apply regarding meal charges:

  • Students that temporarily do not have funds in their account will be allowed to charge up to $20.00 for full-price meals and up to $5.00 for reduced-price meals.
  • Parents are responsible for all meal account charges before applications are approved for Free or Reduced Price meals. This responsibility applies if a student’s eligibility for Free or Reduced Price meals changes. All students with a prior year's Free or Reduced Price status keep that status for 30 (thirty) days starting in the next school year, allowing time to submit a new school year application.
  • A la carte items, second portions, and ice cream will not be allowed to be charged.

Use of Information Statement

The Richard B. Russell National School Lunch Act requires that we use information from this application to see who qualifies for free or reduced price meals. We can only approve complete forms. We may share your eligibility information with education, health, and nutrition programs to help them deliver program benefits to your household. Inspectors and law enforcement may also use your information to make sure that program rules are met.
