TOWN OF CELESTE GETS A BEAUTIFUL GIFT FROM SENIOR AP STUDENTS

Scarlett Rogers, Lucas Babers, Samantha Hughes and Mason McCord, Celeste High School senior AP art students, wanted to leave their artistic mark on the tiny town of Celeste.  The seniors had a vision of beautifying the town and leaving a lasting legacy that the Celeste community could appreciate and be proud of for years to come.  Knowing that the highly traveled US Highway 69 runs right through the middle of the small town, the students imagined creating a landmark masterpiece for all to enjoy and that motorists passing through would notice and remember.

“I honestly never saw myself painting a mural in the middle of downtown but here you go. This beautiful piece of art on the walls of Celeste, Texas forever. This town has definitely made its mark on me and I am honored to share such an accomplishment with these four people. As I get ready to leave my hometown for bigger and better things, I will always have a piece of me here to come back to! Thank you so much for everything you have taught us over the past four years Mr. Moore!”
