Celeste Junior High spent Tuesday, December 19, 2017, celebrating some very impressive accomplishments made by students during the fall semester. The day kicked off with a school performance of the award winning UIL One Act Play entitled “Any Body for Tea” by C.B. Gilford. Then, students and guests were entertained with a Christmas concert by the junior high school band, The Originals. Next, perfect attendance students were recognized and commended for being responsible and showing up every day for school. Students that had perfect attendance had an opportunity to put their name in a raffle to be chosen to jump for dollars. Students received a dollar bill for the total length of one jump. Finally, students were awarded with their hard earned UIL academic medals and ribbons. Celeste Junior High competed against neighboring schools such as Bland, Blue Ridge, Honey Grove, Trenton and Wolfe City in the district UIL competition that was held at Celeste on December 8. Congratulations to Celeste Junior High for winning 1st place overall in the UIL contest with a total of 1020.5 points.
