Junior High Recognizes Students for District Academic UIL Championship; OAP Performs

Celeste Junior High students were recently recognized for their participation in the District UIL competition at an assembly on December 20, 2018.

The One Act Play performed “The Dearly Departed” by David Bottrell and Jessie Jones for students and guests.  The cast and crew, under the direction of theater arts teacher Kristen Weaver, won the following individual awards at the district competition: All Star Cast - Faolin Wilhelm, Honorable Mention - Lauren Tenney and Demee Mize.

JH UIL Awards Assembly 2018 Slideshow

 Following the OAP performance, students were awarded with their hard earned UIL academic medals and ribbons.  Celeste Junior High competed against neighboring schools such as Bland, Honey Grove, Trenton and Wolfe City in the district UIL competition.  Congratulations to Celeste Junior High for winning 1st place overall in the UIL contest with a total of 1062 points.
