For over a decade, Alesha Bayiha has been shaping young minds at Celeste ISD. A proud Celeste alum, Alesha brings not only a wealth of knowledge to her classroom but also a deep-rooted connection to the community she grew up in — a connection that continues to inspire her work every day.
Alesha's journey into teaching began after she graduated from Texas Tech University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Sports Sciences and a minor in Business Administration. Her passion for education led her to pursue a graduate-level alternative certification through Texas A&M-Commerce, where she earned her credentials to teach 4th through 12th grade mathematics.
Over the years, Alesha has taught nearly every math subject from 6th grade math to Algebra 2, always bringing energy, heart, and high expectations into the classroom. But her influence reaches far beyond equations and formulas.
“I believe that every teacher has an influence in their students' lives,” Alesha says. “And I always want my students to take away more than just learning math in my classroom.”
That philosophy shines in the way she runs her classroom. Alesha teaches organization through binder systems, instills kindness and manners by setting clear expectations for respectful communication, and models hard work and accountability by holding students to high standards. Each lesson is about more than numbers — it's about building character, confidence, and community.
She finds joy in teaching the children and grandchildren of the people she once walked the halls with, calling Celeste’s small-town spirit and close-knit relationships one of the best parts of her job. “I love how easy it is to communicate with the administration and how they are willing to jump in wherever needed,” she says. “The people I work with are not just coworkers — they’re some of my best friends, even like family.”
Mrs. Bayiha’s commitment to her students and her community is the kind of quiet, powerful leadership that makes a school truly special. Her classroom isn’t just a place to learn math — it’s a place to grow, to be challenged, and to be cared for. And for every student who walks through her door, that’s a gift that will last far beyond the school year.
