Celeste High School hosted the annual scholarship ceremony presentation for graduating seniors on May 17, 2022. Celeste High School counselor, Alice Dills and Principal James Branam, presented local scholarships to deserving graduating seniors. Mrs. Dills also announced that Jerret Stone, Donovan Lyday and Brandon Lewis, received recognition for their writing abilities from the Paris Junior College creative writing contest. Jerret was named the overall top 2021-2022 English student at PJC.
Christy Wright Perry, mother of the late Jordan Casey Wright, and her brother, Craig Adamson, presented the final scholarship from the Jordan Casey Wright Foundation in the amount of over $1100 to Justin Richey. Christy thanked the Celeste community for their contributions and support over the years. She was accompanied by Jordan’s close friends, Micah McCaslin and Nathan Butcher. She remarked how Jordan’s friends helped her through some of the darkest days. Proceeds from the Jordan Casey Wright Foundation were used to purchases lights for the baseball field, a water fountain for the elementary and numerous scholarships for graduating seniors. “These gifts were made possible with the backing of the community, as supporters jumped right in to help,” Craig Adamson stated. Celeste ISD would like to thank the Jordan Casey Wright Foundation for the generous contributions over the years.
Good luck to all the seniors. We honor all of you for your incredible work, and we wish you the very best!
