Mrs. York Receives Extra Yard Award

Senior, sophomore and honors English teacher, Lisa York, received a big surprise during the senior pep rally on Thursday, November 3, 2022.  The varsity football team recognized Mrs. York for going to the "Extra Yard" for her students’ success in the classroom.  Senior members of the football team including Ronnie Russell, Nolan Blackmon, Brenden Carter and Michael Connelly presented Mrs. York with a team signed football, T-Shirt and a gift card.  The Extra Yard for Teachers Award partners with the College Football Playoff Foundation (CFP) to recognize teachers and to show appreciation because every day is game day for teachers!  The mission of the CFP is to elevate the teaching profession by inspiring and empowering teachers with the support and resources that are required in order to prepare our nation’s students for success.  “It is such a compliment to receive this award, and it means the world to me to know that I am making a difference in the lives of my students,” stated Mrs. York.
