FFA Ag Mech Students Build Audie Murphy Backdrop Display

FFA members Dylan Brown and Gavin McDaniel have been managing a project for the Celeste Audie Murphy Historical site located at the intersection of Highway 69 and Kingston Street in Celeste, on the left when traveling north on Highway 69.  The historical marker was erected in 1973.  Audie Murphy, known as the most decorated soldier in World War II, attended Celeste schools through the 8th grade.  He received 24 decorations for unusual courage and bravery.  Brown and McDaniel designed and built the metal backdrop displays which will be painted later to illustrate scenes of Murphy’s life.  “The students were proud and honored to have a part in this historical project,” stated Ag Mech teacher Steve Wilson.
