Minter and Compton Advance to the Girls' State Powerlifting Meet

The Celeste Powerlifting Coach Blair Elliott stated, “All of the lifters have worked hard all season to improve their lifts and gain strength.  As a result of their commitment and dedication to the program, we had a strong finish to the regular season meets.  It's been a great season so far, and now we head into the regional meets.”   

Prior to the Regional Meet, the Girls competed in the Commerce Powerlifting Meet:  Preslee Minter finished 3rd in her weight class and Kennedy Compton finished 2nd.   Carly Wren, Riley Almand, Preslee Minter, Jahdai Sanchez, McKayela Lyday and Kennedy Compton will compete at the regional meet.  The Regional Powerlifting Meet was held on Saturday, March 4th in Eustace, and Celeste High School is proud to announce that Preslee Minter and Kennedy Compton are headed to the State Powerlifting Meet after both earned 2nd place medals at Regionals!  The Girls State Meet will be held in Frisco on March 15, 2023. 

Boys Commerce Powerlifting Meet: Grady Ford finished 5th, Ronnie Russell finished 4th, and then Tristan Nichols, Nicholas Michka, and Case Reisor all finished 2nd. The boys earned enough points to finish 3rd as a team.  Current Regional Standings are as follows:  Case Reisor: (tied for 1st in region), Nick Michka: (3rd in region), Grady Ford: (4th in region), Tristan Nichols: (10th in region), Ronnie Russell: (11th in region). The boys will compete on Thursday, March 9.
