2023 Valedictorian & Salutatorian

Celeste High School is proud to announce the Class of 2023 Valedictorian Justin Sherwin and Salutatorian Paris Walker.  

Justin Sherwin is the son of Jim and Kim Sherwin and brother of Megan and Jared Sherwin.  He is the Valedictorian of his class with a 4.71 GPA. In high school, Justin has taken several honors and dual credit classes. Justin was on the Varsity Cross Country team for four years, advancing to regionals each year, Varsity Basketball for two years, making it to the state quarterfinals last year. He was also on Varsity Baseball for three years and Varsity Golf all four years, advancing to the regional tournament three years, and advancing to state this year. Justin placed third overall in the district golf tournament two years. Justin also participated as an officer in Beta Club three years and was the Vice President his senior year. He was on the yearbook staff his sophomore and junior years.  He has participated in FFA for two years and in FCA for four years.  Justin served as President and Vice President during his 4 years of Student Council.

Justin is very involved with his church. He helps run the sound system every Sunday, occasionally teaches Sunday school, and has gone on several mission trips with his home church. Justin plans to attend Texas A&M University - College Station, where he has been accepted into the Honors Engineering program, and plans to study Nuclear Engineering.

Paris Walker is the daughter of Derek and Lindsay Walker, and sister of Kloe Walker.  She is salutatorian of her class with a 4.56 GPA. Throughout high school Paris has taken honors and dual credit classes. She has been heavily involved in the FFA, being President of the chapter and the District, and she made it to state in Radio Broadcasting, Prepared Public Speaking, and Wool and Livestock Judging. She has shown animals through Celeste FFA since the third grade. She has participated as an officer in Beta Club and worked on the yearbook - eventually becoming the editor. She has been on the student council the past four years, and she was elected President her Junior and Senior year. Paris was a cheerleader for four years and was captain for the past two years. Outside of school she enjoys hanging out with her friends and family. 

Paris is planning to attend college at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. She is majoring in Agricultural and Applied Economics.
