Honoring our Constitution with a Visit from Ben Franklin

Celeste Elementary students welcomed a special guest from history, Benjamin Franklin, to celebrate Constitution week on September 19, 2023.  The students learned about the importance of the United States Constitution.  Mr. Franklin explained to the students that for almost 250 years, the Constitution has been the most important document in American history and government.  He discussed the constitutional laws that protect us and guarantee Americans their certain basic rights as citizens.  The students also got to see some relics from history such as a powder horn used to store gun powder, an antique book, a caltrop which was used during the Revolutionary War and marbles dating back to the late 1700’s.  Special thanks to Darren York for sharing his time, wisdom and expertise of Ben franklin and the U.S. Constitution.
