Celeste ISD faculty and staff had an amazing welcome back professional development with Shannon McClintock Miller on January 2, 2024! Shannon provided professional development for Celeste ISD teachers and staff that included educational resources, digital tools and apps, as well as tricks and tips to engage students and promote learning. Her sessions were full of inspiration, creative ideas, and resources that support the curriculum and help to empower our students as creators.
Shannon is an international speaker, consultant and author who has a passion for education, librarianship, advocacy, technology, social media and making a difference in the world and lives of others, especially children. She is the author of the award winning The Library Voice blog and enjoys writing for various blogs, journals and other forums including ISTE, School Library Journal and Publishers Weekly. She has written 12 children’s books about library skills and Makerspaces with Capstone. She currently serves as the preschool-12th grade district teacher librarian at Van Meter Community School District in Iowa.
Shannon gave away free Virtual Stickerboards online subscriptions to the following lucky winners: Amy Evans, Kathy Hise, Shelby Tomlinson (student teaching at Celeste Elementary), and Hannah Clark. Kim Rhoden won a Sticker Poster set for her class by having the most years of teaching at Celeste.
