2025 Valedictorian & Salutatorian

Valedictorian - Linda Beth Norwood

Linda Beth Norwood is the daughter of Clint and Alice Norwood and the sister of Mary Alice Norwood.  

She will graduate as the Valedictorian of the class of 2025. During high school she has excelled in all areas of her academics, taking every honors class and dual credit course she is able to, while also balancing all of her extracurricular events.  Linda Beth has been an FFA member all four years of high school, a member of the Celeste Softball team all four years, a member of FCA all four years, and a Beta member for three years.  She has also served as a class officer for three years, FFA Chapter Officer for two years, FFA District Officer one year, and a Beta Club Officer for two years.  Through these various positions and involvements she has been able to create a network for herself that will serve her well for years to come.  Linda Beth is also very involved in her Church community, serving her community weekly for the past several years and teaching a children's bible class on Sunday’s!  It is only through dedication and perseverance that she has made it this far, and will continue to press on to reach her goals throughout University.  

Linda Beth Norwood’s future plans include her attending Texas Tech University starting in the fall of 2025 to Major in Agricultural Communications and Minor in Journalism.

Salutatorian - Lauren Tenney

Lauren Tenney is the Salutatorian of the Class of 2025. A dedicated and well-rounded student, Lauren has consistently excelled in her academic pursuits, taking numerous honors and dual credit courses throughout high school.

In addition to her academic success, Lauren has been a standout in extracurricular activities. She played basketball all four years of high school, helping lead her team to the first round of playoffs this year and earning Academic All-District honors in both her junior and senior years. She was a regional qualifier in cross country as a freshman and also competed in track for two years.

Lauren has served as class secretary for all four years and has been a committed member of the Beta Club for the past three years. A talented artist, her work has been featured in the Greenville Herald-Banner. She has contributed to the local community by restoring historic murals and designing a new mural in Celeste.

In addition to her leadership and artistic contributions, Lauren has been a member of the yearbook staff during her junior and senior years. She has also been an active member of the drumline for four years, serving as captain her junior and senior years, and participated in One Act Play for three years.

This fall, Lauren will attend Texas A&M University in College Station, where she has been accepted into the Mays Business School. She plans to major in Business Management with a focus on Accounting.
