I attend the Technology Computer Education Association conference every year. My personal learning network includes members of both technology and library professionals. One of my favorites is Shannon McClintock Miller, for creating and sharing monthly student choice boards! Shannon is a district librarian and technology specialist at Van Meter Elementary in Van Meter, Iowa.
I have been working with Celeste ISD for over 20 years! My job keeps me busy with Chromebook maintenance and distribution, webmaster, serving as UIL HS Poetry and Prose, and JH Oral Reading sponsor, reading to elementary students, coaching wool judging and FFA speaking events.
I worked as an elementary teacher at Paradise Elementary in Paradise, Texas from 1991-1993. I moved back to my hometown in Merit, Texas in 1993 and taught at Bland Elementary from 1993-1997. I began working on my Masters in Library Science in 1997. I took a job with the Hunt County Co-op in 1997 where I worked as the district librarian for Bland, Campbell and Celeste. When my son was born, Celeste hired me to work part-time, and then Celeste hired me full-time to work as the district technology director and librarian in 2005. I have been with the district ever since!
I have been married to Celeste High School Agriculture Science Teacher, Stephen Dillard, for 33 years. We have one son, Jaxson. He attends Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas.
My hobbies include raising Hampshire and Suffolk cross medium wool sheep and Shorthorn cattle. In addition to sheep and cattle, I also have 1 dog and 5 cats! I enjoy spending time with my family, reading and designing webpages.
