I spent 4 years teaching 5^th and 6^th grade at Bluebonnet Elementary in Hereford, TX, then I moved to Hereford Junior High with our 6^th graders and taught 6^th grade reading and English for 4 years. I graduated with an MA in Professional Counseling in 2005 and became a junior high counselor, 504 coordinator, and testing coordinator at Hereford JH. In 2012 I moved back to Bluebonnet Elementary as a counselor and continued as the 504 Coordinator and Test Coordinator for Hereford JH and Hereford Preparatory Academy.  In 2016 I was able to work ful-time as an Elementary Counselor. This will be my first year as the Elementary and Junior High Counselor for Celeste ISD, my 19^th year as a counselor, and my 27^th year in public education.

I have been married to Clay Cantrell (at the junior high) since 2004. We moved to McKinney in June 2023 to be with family. We have a pug named Frank and a chihuahua named Cricket.

Outside of school I love to read, knit, and crochet. I love animals and being with family.
