I currently teach 6, 7, and 8^th grade Science.

I was active duty Navy for 14 years as an Air Traffic Controller. My last 3 years in the Navy, I was an instructor at the Air Traffic Control School House in Pensacola, Florida teaching sailors and marines Air Traffic Control and weather. I then went to work with the Federal Aviation Administration as an Air Traffic Specialist where I conducted on the job training and instructing.  Once I retired from Federal Service, I began substitute teaching as we moved every few years as my husband was still on Active Duty Army until 2017.  I have worked in both large and small school districts in Texas,Oklahoma, Illinois, and Iowa at all grade levels from kinder to 12^th grade.

I am married to Sam Young and have 3 grown children, Kurt, Justin, and Chelsea.  I also have two grandchildren. Our children grew up as military brats so only, Chelsea, our youngest attended Celeste ISD from 8^th grade and graduated Celeste High School in 2021.  We have a small farm with Black Angus cattle and our two dogs, Lucy and Whiskey.  

I love to walk and jog.  Traveling is my very favorite past time!  I was stationed in Keflavik, Iceland and Puerto Rico along with other state side installations that really encouraged me to see as much of the world as I can.
